EXP 2: Elaboration of Final Design

  •  Top Monument: Rectilinear representing Alisa Andrasek has a sort of repeated shape of vertical rectangles that lower in height to reflect nature's mountains with the geometric texture to further augment how it is a homogenous form. I've incoporated Otto's Curvilinear shapes of the monument into the interior of the open spaces a person can walk in.

  • Bottom monument: Curvilinear representing Frei Otto has a sort of overlapping of curvy cubes that I took inspiration from bubbles. The textures help to give that sense of marine nature. The bottom halves of the stairs are curvilinear while the top are straight as well as the interior which has rectangular surfaces inside to show incorporation of the top monument's concept.

  • Overall monument, one thing I wanted to address was how the size of the monument is not entirely large and would be around the size of a 4-storey building. This was so that there was appropriate spacing for the person to walk around in. I wanted this to be functional for the person to be able to walk throughout the monument through the stairs to also give them moments of seeing nature, which is what inspired me through the clients.
